Our mission is to provide (RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s) nursing services in the home and provide supplemental nurse staffing, for Health Care facilities such as, nursing homes, Dr.’s offices, clinic & others. We are fulfilling the needs for the public in, Duval, Nassau, Clay, Flagler, Baker, Volusia and St, Johns county, in Florida. Department's Services

Dependable Nursing Services Nurse Staffing Pool, recruits and retains nursing professionals to supplement the staffing needs of medical facilities. We place registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in a variety of facility shifts, including per Diem, and contract placement. We know that many facilities still face shortages.  Dependable Nursing Services encourage facilities to utilize the services we provide when an employee shortage exists or when they need temporary staffing to cover holidays, employee vacations or maternity leave.

Dependable Nursing Services knows that each patient is unique. In order to determine proper treatment, a Registered Nurse (RN) will visit you, your home setting, your hospital or your child’s setting to complete a full assessment and answer any questions you may have. We operate under the direction of a RN, who will contact their physician, our clinical team to develop a plan of care and provide on-going special care that is appropriate, competent and consistent with their individualized needs.  Your private duty nurse (RN or LPN) will work closely with your physician’s staff to provide the best care available. Our Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses have extensive experience and will be appropriately matched to your case.  Each Nurse or Nurse’s Aide is interviewed, screened, and credentials and background checks are completed through a state data base. Health care professional strives to achieve identified goals and outcomes set forth by the patient, family and physician.

The Qualified Licensed Practical Nurses administer nursing care to patients on an intermittent basis or on a 24/7 basis in their home.  This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.  Services are furnished in accordance with agency policies.  We provide Private Nurses (RN, LPN) for Skilled Nursing, who will provide Care and treatment for people having medical diagnosis, under the direction of a Director of Nursing and the patients Physician. RNs & LPN administer medication and care for you after surgery.

CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT

 

Certified Nursing Assistant (C N A) ” means any person who has been issued a certificate under part II of chapter 464.For every Certified Nursing Assistant the

Nurse Registry (agency) shall have on file, the person’s State of Florida certification. A copy of the screen of the Florida Department of Health web site’s Certified Nursing Assistant Information that shows the person’s name, address, certificate number, original issue date, expire date and status will meet this requirement CNA may provide the following assistance with self-administered medication, as needed by the patient, in accordance with s.400.488, F.S.: 1. prepare necessary items such as juice, water, cups, or spoons to assist the patient in the self-administration of medication; 2. open and close the medication container or tear the foil of prepackaged medications; 3. assist the resident in the self-administration process. Examples of such assistance the arm, hand, or other parts of the patient’s body so as to allow the self-administration of medication; 4. assist the patient by placing unused doses of solid medication back into the medication container.

Personnel – Home Health Aide

For every Home Health Aide, the agency has on file, documentation of successful completion of at least 75 hours of training in the following subject areas or successful passage of the competency test.

 

  1. Communication skills;
  2. Observation, reporting and documentation of patient or client status and the care or services provided;
  3. Reading and recording temperature, pulse and respiration;
  4. Basic infection control procedures;
  5. Basic elements of body functions that must be reported to the registered nurse supervisor;
  6. Maintenance of a clean and safe environment;
  7. Recognition of emergencies and applicable follow-up within the home health aide scope of performance;
  8. Physical, emotional, and developmental characteristics of the populations served by the agency, including the need for respect for the patient or client, his privacy, and his property;
  9. Appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene and grooming, including bed bath, sponge, tub, or shower bath; shampoo, sink, tub, or bed; nail and skin care; oral hygiene; care of dentures;
  10. Safe transfer techniques, including use of appropriate equipment, and ambulation;
  11. Normal range of motion and positioning;
  12. Nutrition and fluid intake;
  13. Cultural differences in families;
  14. Food preparation and household chores;
  15. Other topics pertinent to Home Health Aide

 

If a Home Health Aide successfully completes training through a vocational school approved by Florida ‘ s Department of Education, the individual must present to an agency a diploma issued by the vocational school.

 

The Home Health Aide shall not change sterile dressings, irrigate body cavities such as giving an enema, irrigate a colostomy or wound, perform a gastric irrigation or enteral feeding, catheterize a patient, administer medication, apply heat by any method, care for a tracheotomy tube, nor provide any personal nursing services. The home health aide may also provide the following assistance with self-administered medication, as needed by the patient, in accordance:

 

  1. Prepare necessary items such as juice, water, cups, or spoons to assist the patient in the self-administration of medication;
  2. Open and close the medication container or tear the foil of prepackaged medications;
  3. Assist the resident in the self-administration process. Examples of such assistance include the steadying of the arm, hand, or other parts of the patient’s body so as to allow the self-administration of medication;
  4. Assist the patient by placing unused doses of solid medication back into the medication container. Assistance with self-administration does not include: (a) Mixing, compounding, converting, or calculating, which has not been included in the service provision plan.

 

Assistance with self-administered medication

Home Health Aides assisting with self-administered medication must receive a minimum of 2 hours of training (which can be part of the 40 hour Nurses Register training) prior to assuming this responsibility. Training must cover state law and rule requirements with respect to the assistance with self-administration of medications in the home, procedures for assisting the patient with self-administration of medication, common medications, recognition of side effects and adverse reactions and procedures to follow when patients appear to be experiencing side effects and adverse reactions. Training must include verification that each home health aide can read the prescription label and any instructions.

When we provide full-time care for 7 days a week, we assign a full time person and part-time person and a back-up Home Health Aide, to care for you.

The full time Home Health Aide provides care for 4-5 days a week, and the part-time Home Health Aide or the back-up person takes over for the remainder of the week. This is an ideal living situation for seniors who are in the middle ground of not requiring the more intensive care of a nursing home; but still requiring some level of assistance on a daily basis. This type of community is normally less expensive than other types of more intensive care (e.g., memory care). In these types of communities, seniors live independently, but may receive some helpful services such as housekeeping, laundry, and transportation. This is a Residential Care Home for the elderly and disable. Must able to walk in and have no mental health issues. This is considered a safe environment for those who are elderly or disable and cannot live alone due to some illness such as blindness from diabetes, severe Heart problems, that will not allow you the care for your home. The State has a “Special Fund” that will assist those that apply and qualify.
